When can an owner log a find on their own cache?

From NzGpsWiki

Q: When can an owner log a find against one of their own caches.

A: There are a number of circumstances that may allow the owner of a cache to log a find. These include:

  • If it is an event cache, and the owner attended the event, they are entitled to log the event 'As Attended'.
  • If one member of a team places a cache, and other members of the team find it (without being present during the placing), they are entitled to log the find.
  • A cacher may find the cache, and then later adopts the cache and becomes the owner.
  • Over time a cache may move from its original position - if it moves a reasonable distance (no definition) it may be acceptable for the owner to log the find.
