As Social Networking software has become more popular, we're keen to support the use of social networking to better connect New Zealand geocachers and GPS users. None of these require you to be a member of the Society to take part - so there's no reason why you shouldn't join! ;)

Forums

Yes, our forums may be mostly Web 1.0, but they're still the best place to hook up with the most active GPS users, and geocachers in New Zealand. This should be your first stopping off point ;)

Social Networking

Here are some Social Networking options to enable you to connect to people that you may already know using existing social networking services.

Note that you'll need to be an existing Facebook user to access these groups.

• Geocaching New Zealand - our Facebook group for geocachers in New Zealand.
• NZ Recreational GPS Society - our Facebook group for anyone with an interest in GPS and GPS activities in New Zealand.
• Geocaching - the largest global Facebook geocaching group, with nearly 25,000 group members as June 2009.
• Garmin - one for fans of Garmin GPSrs.
• NZ Open GPS Maps Project - for fans of the NZ Open GPS Maps for Garmin GPSrs.

• gps.org.nz Flickr Group - an open group for geocaching and GPS related photos in New Zealand. Anyone is welcome to join and share photos of geocaching and GPS-related activities.
