Many Garmin GPS units have a combination of the letters C, S and X after them. These indicate the following capabilities.
However, Garmin does not have appear to have used these labels consistently. It is assumed that this is because of marketing and naming reasons.
It should be noted that the X does not refer to all models that utilise the new SIRF chipshet that provides enhanced positioning. There are some X models that don't use the SIRF chipset namely the eTrex Venture Cx, Legend Cx and Vista Cx. Also, the Vista Cx has sensors but does not have S - technically it should be an eTrex Vista CSx.
